Duties Assist with asphalt paving operations, including spreading, leveling, and compacting asphalt to ensure high-quality results. Operate heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and front loader trucks to move materials and prepare surfaces. Support the setup and breakdown of construction sites by unloading materials and preparing tools and equipment. Conduct utility locating to identify underground utilities before excavation or paving begins, ensuring safety on site. Maintain safety standards by following protocols and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment at all times. Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects while adhering to quality standards. Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment like dump trucks and Caterpillar machinery to keep everything running smoothly. Skills Experience operating heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and front loader trucks. Knowledge of asphalt paving techniques and construction site procedures. Familiarity with utility locating tools and methods for underground utility detection. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining safety awareness. Strong teamwork skills with excellent communication abilities. Prior construction site experience preferred but not required; training available for motivated learners.
