Job Description
Asphalt Equipment Operator — $26-$42 per Hour Main Executive is hiring an experienced Asphalt Equipment Operator for paving projects throughout Appleton, the Fox Valley, Northeast Wisconsin, and surrounding areas. 5+ years experience preferred — but if you show up, work safe, and want to learn, we'll train you. We're hiring enthusiastic, trustworthy and forward-moving people. This is a full-time, hands-on construction position. The Asphalt Equipment Operator will perform excavation, grading, loading, paving, rolling, compaction, and material-handling operations. Candidates must operate safely, protect equipment, understand grades and drainage, and assist the paving crew when equipment work is complete. Pay is $26-$42 per hour , based on equipment experience, paving knowledge, grading ability, production, safety, attendance, reliability, and versatility. Responsibilities Operate asphalt pavers, rollers, skid steers, loaders, and excavators Excavate and prepare paving jobsites Grade subbases and establish proper elevations and drainage Load, move, spread, and stockpile materials Operate rollers, plate compactors, and other compaction equipment Assist with paving, rolling, grading, and wacking operations Support asphalt placement and paving production Work safely around trucks, traffic, crews, utilities, and hot asphalt Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance Keep equipment clean and report repair or safety concerns promptly Protect company equipment, tools, and materials Assist with physical jobsite work when operating duties are complete Qualifications Previous heavy-equipment operating experience Asphalt-paving experience strongly preferred Experience operating multiple pieces of equipment preferred Ability to understand grades, slopes, drainage, and compaction Ability to safely operate around underground and overhead utilities Strong awareness around trucks, traffic, crews, and moving equipment Dependable attendance and reliable transportation Ability to follow project layouts and foreman instructions Willingness to perform labor duties when necessary Ability to maintain production without sacrificing safety or quality Schedule Full-time Monday through Friday Early morning start times Overtime may be required Hours may vary based on weather, workload, and paving schedules Physical Requirements Ability to enter and exit equipment repeatedly Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb, and walk on uneven surfaces Ability to work outdoors in heat, cold, wind, and changing weather Ability to work around noise, dust, vibration, hot asphalt, traffic, and moving equipment Ability to perform physical paving work when crew support is needed Our Standards Our core values are: Character.
