Asphalt Paving Equipment Operator (CDL Required) | Earn $36-42/hour + OT Top Operator Pay. Local Work, Home Every Night. Skilled asphalt equipment operating with a growing Fox Valley company — steady local work, home every night, and pay that reflects real skill behind the controls. If you take pride in a smooth mat and clean compaction and want a long-term home for your trade, this is the crew. Pave Black Asphalt runs paving and pavement crews across the Fox Valley — driveways, parking lots, roadways, and commercial work. We're looking for an experienced operator who holds a CDL and can both run our paving equipment and drive the truck to and from jobsites. What You'll Do Operate asphalt paving equipment — pavers, screeds, rollers, compactors, and skid steers — to lay and compact a quality mat Run the screed and set depth, grade, crown, and slope for a smooth, durable surface Operate rollers and compactors to spec for proper density Set up, adjust, clean, and maintain equipment before, during, and after paving Drive a company truck (Class A or B) to haul equipment, materials, and crew to and from jobsites Read site plans and set and verify grade, slope, and elevation Prep and check subgrade and base before paving Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections and basic equipment maintenance Support the crew with handwork — raking, luting, shoveling — around edges and obstacles as needed Follow all DOT, OSHA, and MUTCD safety standards; keep jobsites clean and professional CDL Requirement A valid Class A or Class B CDL is required, along with a valid DOT medical card and an acceptable driving record. This is primarily a skilled operating role that also requires driving our truck and hauling equipment and materials to and from jobsites. Skilled-operator pay , with clear, earnable steps up as you prove your skill Overtime and occasional Saturday hours available Paid time off Employee referral bonus A real path to lead operator and crew foreman Qualifications Asphalt paving equipment operating experience — paver, screed, and rollers Valid Class A or Class B CDL and valid DOT medical card Acceptable driving record Working knowledge of grade, slope, crown, and compaction Dependable attendance and reliable transportation Willing to work outdoors in changing weather, early mornings, overtime, and occasional Saturdays Comfortable with physically demanding work Physical Requirements Climb on and off equipment repeatedly throughout the day Operate equipment for extended periods with sustained focus Lift and carry at least 50 lbs repeatedly; shovel and rake as needed Bend, kneel, crouch, and reach on active jobsites Work around heat, hot asphalt, noise, dust, vibration, traffic, and heavy equipment How to Apply Apply through Indeed, or stop by our office: 1103 S. Pay:
$1,440.00 - $2,940.00 per week People with a criminal record are encouraged to apply Application Question(s): Do you currently hold a valid Class A or Class B CDL? Are you willing to perform hands-on construction work when you are not driving or operating equipment? Are you available for early mornings, and overtime? Can you lift at least 50 pounds and work outdoors around heat, hot asphalt, traffic, and heavy equipment? Can you reliably report to our Appleton location and travel to jobsites throughout the Fox Valley, Northeast Wisconsin, and surrounding areas?
