Job Description
Skilled Asphalt Finisher and Raker — $26-$42 per Hour Main Executive is hiring a proven Skilled Asphalt Finisher and Raker for driveways, parking lots, roads, and commercial paving projects throughout Appleton, the Fox Valley, Northeast Wisconsin, and surrounding areas. We're hiring enthusiastic, trustworthy and forward-moving people. This is a full-time, hands-on construction position. The Skilled Asphalt Finisher and Raker must be capable of shaping hot-mix asphalt, maintaining grades, correcting imperfections, creating clean joints and transitions, and completing detailed handwork with limited supervision. Pay is $26-$42 per hour , based on asphalt experience, raking ability, finishing quality, production, attendance, reliability, and versatility. Responsibilities Rake, lute, spread, and shape hot-mix asphalt Maintain proper grades, slopes, and drainage Establish clean edges, joints, seams, and transitions Correct low spots, high spots, and surface imperfections Complete detailed handwork around structures and tight areas Coordinate with paver, roller, truck, and equipment operators Monitor asphalt temperature, placement, and workability Help establish proper compaction Assist with wacking, hand compaction, and edge work Maintain tools and clean jobsites Report quality or safety concerns promptly Help train less-experienced crew members when needed Qualifications Proven asphalt-raking or finishing experience Ability to work with limited supervision Understanding of grades, drainage, joints, seams, and compaction Ability to identify and correct paving problems Ability to create clean edges, tie-ins, and transitions Ability to work safely around hot materials and heavy equipment Strong attendance and reliable transportation Ability to perform demanding physical work Ability to work efficiently under time-sensitive conditions Willingness to work extended seasonal hours Schedule Full-time Monday through Friday Early morning start times Overtime may be required End times may vary based on paving operations Hours may vary based on weather, workload, and project schedules Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry at least 50 pounds Ability to rake, shovel, bend, kneel, squat, and stand for extended periods Ability to perform repetitive physical work Ability to work around high temperatures and hot asphalt Ability to work outdoors in heat, cold, wind, and changing weather Ability to safely work around traffic, trucks, and paving equipment Our Standards Our core values are: Character.
