Full Job Description The Role:
We are hiring an experienced Paving Crew Member to join our asphalt paving crew. This is a hands-on field position responsible for the prep, layout, and finishing work that goes into every job — shoveling, luting, running a wacker, working a level, and operating a skid steer. You will work alongside an experienced crew on commercial parking lots, driveways, school and government projects, and a wide variety of paving work across Southeastern Wisconsin. Responsibilities:
Shovel, rake, and lute hot mix asphalt to grade and finish edges and tie-ins Operate a wacker / plate compactor on patches, edges, and confined areas Work a builder's level or laser level to set and check grade Operate a skid steer (loading, grading, moving material, and site cleanup) Set up and break down jobsites — traffic control, signage, and barricades Prep the surface ahead of the paver: tack coat, edge cleaning, and base work Clean tools, equipment, and trucks at the end of each shift Follow all jobsite safety procedures and contribute to a safe work environment Support the rest of the crew with additional tasks as the job requires Qualifications Required:
Previous experience on an asphalt paving crew Proficient with a shovel, lute, and wacker / plate compactor Able to work a builder's level or laser level to grade Comfortable operating a skid steer on the jobsite Ability to handle physical labor outdoors in all weather conditions — heat, cold, rain, and around hot asphalt Ability to lift 50+ lbs and stand, walk, and bend throughout the shift Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Dependable, on-time, and a strong work ethic Good communication and willingness to work as part of a crew Preferred:
CDL Class A or B OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification Flagger / traffic control certification Experience with sealcoating, striping, or concrete work Compensation & Benefits:
