Job Description

Job Summary J.F. Allen Company is seeking a reliable and hardworking Asphalt Plant Laborer to join our team in Elkins, WV. This role involves performing general manual labor and assisting with the daily operations, maintenance, and cleanup of the asphalt plant to ensure safe and efficient plant production. Key Responsibilities Perform general labor tasks to support plant operation and maintenance. Clean, grease, and assist with maintenance of plant equipment. Unload materials (e.g., asphalt, aggregates) and manage inventory as needed. Operate basic machinery such as skid steers, loaders, lifts, and other tools when trained. Ensure housekeeping around the plant by keeping work areas clean and safe. Follow all safety procedures and assist with safety inspections. Other duties as assigned by supervision. Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Previous experience as a laborer in a construction, asphalt, or plant setting is a plus but not required. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Valid driver's license Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly. Capable of standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and climbing during long shifts. Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions. Work Environment Work is performed primarily outdoors in and around the plant area. May involve heat exposure near plant equipment and moving machinery. Skills Strong teamwork and communication skills. Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities. A positive attitude and commitment to safety.
