GLO Resources is currently hiring an experienced Boilermaker/ Tack Plate Assembler to work in Lafayette, LA. The pay rate is between $17-$24 an hour depending on experience. The schedule is Monday - Friday, usually with a 6:30 am start time working about 10 hour days with occasional overtime depending on project deadlines. Position Summary:

The successful candidate will support the fabrication, fit-up, assembly, and erection of structural steel components associated with the construction of a dome-style roof structure.

This position is ideal for a skilled tradesperson with experience working from drawings, fitting and assembling structural components, performing welding and fabrication work, and safely working at heights. Experience with tanks, vessels, industrial structures, water/wastewater facilities, or large structural assemblies is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

Fabricate, fit, assemble, and erect structural carbon steel components for tank roofs. Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, shop drawings, and layout measurements. Measure, mark, cut, fit, and position steel components according to project specifications. Perform tack-off responsibilities in preparation for the welders Operate hand and power tools, cutting equipment, grinders, drills, and other fabrication equipment. Assist with rigging, hoisting, positioning, and securing structural components. Work safely from elevated platforms, scaffolding, ladders, lifts, and other approved access systems. Inspect completed work for proper alignment, fit in size, dimensions, and overall quality. Work closely with welders, ironworkers, operators, foremen, and other craft personnel to maintain production schedules. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Follow all company, client, OSHA, and project-specific safety requirements. Properly use required PPE and fall-protection equipment. Perform other construction-related duties as assigned by the Foreman or Superintendent. May be assigned other duties, as necessary.

Qualifications:

Previous experience as a Boilermaker, Structural Fitter, Ironworker, Welder/Fitter, Tank Assembler, or similar skilled trade. Experience with structural steel fabrication and erection. Ability to read and understand construction drawings, blueprints, and measurements. Ability to safely work at heights and in an outdoor construction environment. Basic knowledge of rigging and material-handling practices. Ability to use common hand tools and power tools safely and effectively. Ability to work independently as well as effectively within a construction crew. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Reliable attendance and dependable transportation. Must be able to pass applicable client/site requirements. Must be able to pass a drug screening

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience constructing or repairing tanks, vessels, clarifiers, digesters, water/wastewater treatment structures, or similar large-scale structures. Structural welding or fabrication experience. Experience with dome roofs, tank roofs, large-diameter structures, or elevated steel assemblies.

OSHA 10/30

certification. NCCER or other recognized craft certification preferred. Experience with rigging and signal-person responsibilities.

Physical Requirements:

This position involves regular physical activity, including: Standing and working for prolonged periods. Ability to safely perform physically demanding construction activities. Frequent bending, kneeling, climbing and crouching. Ability to work at elevated heights while utilizing required fall-protection systems. Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions. Pushing and pulling heavy objects. Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
