About the Role As a Boiler Systems Technician, you will ensure the reliability and efficiency of critical heating and steam infrastructure. You will play a vital role in maintaining operational continuity by performing expert troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and system optimization on high-pressure boiler equipment. Responsibilities Execute comprehensive maintenance and repairs on commercial gas and oil heating systems, ensuring full compliance with mechanical, electrical, and EPA safety standards. Optimize the performance of boiler plant infrastructure, including pneumatic control systems, hydraulic pumps, and energy management systems. Diagnose and resolve complex malfunctions in valves, burner units, 3-phase electric motors, and electronic control panels to minimize downtime. Conduct rigorous preventative maintenance, including water sampling, chemical treatment, and internal boiler inspections to extend equipment lifespan. Maintain precise service logs and digital documentation of all repairs, ensuring accurate reporting for facility management. Respond to emergency service calls and perform system testing to verify operational integrity and safety. Collaborate with engineering teams to implement system upgrades and participate in ongoing technical training to stay current with industry standards. Qualifications Required Skills High school diploma or equivalent. Proven mechanical aptitude with experience in boiler or HVAC system maintenance. Proficiency in using Microsoft Office suite for documentation and reporting. Ability to obtain and maintain required facility access credentials. Capacity to perform physical labor, including lifting up to 70 lbs and working in confined spaces or at heights. Commitment to safety protocols, including the ability to obtain OSHA 10 certification. Preferred Skills Experience with industrial welding and pipe fitting techniques. Advanced knowledge of instrumentation and automated control systems.
