Boiler Mechanic Who We Are:

The Boiler Mechanic will perform a variety of planned maintenance and operating duties for the facility's Management Infrastructure unit. The role requires operating, repairing, maintaining, and adjusting boilers, pumps, compressors, water lines, steam lines, steam traps, valves, and all related systems and equipment. All mechanical work related to the heating and cooling of various buildings. Work includes, but is not limited to, daily monitoring and maintenance of boilers. Inspect fluids, water, gas, oil, and related equipment. When necessary, the mechanic's role will require adjusting fluids to ensure systems operate correctly. Boiler water chemical testing and daily readings. Repair boiler machinery such as piping and valves. Replaces boiler parts that are defective or in need of replacement. Adjust equipment as needed to make sure the boiler system is functioning safely. Maintains cleanliness of boiler rooms and related facilities. Read blueprints. Troubleshoot and repair/maintain domestic hot water heaters. Circulator pumps, air conditioning systems. Service and troubleshooting fan coil units, air handlers, and window air conditioning units. Performs other duties as assigned, such as working on toilets, sinks and faucets. Some exposure to elevated degrees of high heat, noise, dust, dirt and/or areas requiring infection control. Requires meeting deadlines for completion of work on a daily basis. Must be reliable, safety-conscious, and able to work independently as well as part of a team. Must be available to participate in an on-call rotation and respond to emergency service calls as needed. The rotating schedule includes after hours and weekends.

Essential Services Personnel:

are expected to report to work under all circumstances including inclement weather-related conditions, holidays, etc. They are to adhere to the shift schedules established by their supervisors or as directed by them.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of 5 years of experience in building maintenance and/or training school is required. Must have a valid New York Driver's License with a clear driving record. Knowledge of heating and cooling systems and the tools used for this trade. A general understanding of electro-mechanical equipment. Rudimentary ability to utilize hand-operated construction equipment. Ability to repeatedly lift 50 pounds and kneel/bend/stoop and perform strenuous labor for extended periods of time. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. A positive attitude, able to get along with co-workers.

Salary:

$29.59 per hour.

Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm
