Job Overview We are seeking a skilled, hands-on Landscape Construction Foreman to lead our jobsite crews and oversee high-end residential outdoor builds. In this role, you will work directly alongside your team to ensure every project is built to specs, completed on schedule, and executed within budget. Key Responsibilities:
Crew Leadership:
Direct daily jobsite operations, manage labor flow, and work hands-on with crew members to maintain high quality standards.
Execution & Planning:
Assist with project layout, sequencing, and staging materials for efficient order of operations.
Trade & Subcontractor Coordination:
Oversee and communicate with trade partners and subcontractors on-site as needed.
Communication & Progress Tracking:
Maintain clear daily communication with project management regarding site progress, material needs, and timeline updates.
On-the-Job Training:
Mentor and train crew members on trade skills, tool safety, and installation best practices.
Required Field & Technical Skill Sets:
Formwork:
Experience forming concrete flatwork, pool structures, and custom outdoor BBQ countertops.
Masonry & Tile:
Hands-on experience constructing CMU block walls/structures, flatwork tile, vertical veneer tile, and pool glass tile.
Grading & Drainage:
Proficient with laser levels and string lines to achieve precise site grading elevations and install robust drainage systems.
Irrigation & Plumbing:
Capable of designing and installing complete residential irrigation and mainline plumbing systems.
Finish Carpentry & Decking:
Skilled in fine outdoor woodwork, structure framing, and composite/wood decking installation.
Low-Voltage Lighting:
Ability to layout and install low-voltage architectural and landscape lighting systems.
Planting & Horticulture:
Strong knowledge of plant identification, root preparation, and proper planting techniques.
Equipment Operation:
Demonstrated skill in operating mini-excavators, skid steers, and standard heavy equipment.
Requirements & Qualifications:
Leadership Experience:
Proven track record running an efficient crew and delivering quality craftsmanship.
Tools & Safety:
Advanced knowledge of trade tools (jackhammers, jump rammers, plate compactors, saws, and power tools) and strict adherence to jobsite safety protocols.
Communication:
Conversational English required for team leadership and coordination with management.
Driver's License & Transport:
Valid CA Driver's License and reliable personal transportation to commute to rotating jobsites across South Orange County.
