Overview We are seeking a skilled and dependable Mason to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with a variety of masonry materials, including brick, block, stone, concrete, and pavers. The Mason will be responsible for constructing, repairing, and restoring residential and commercial masonry projects while maintaining high standards of craftsmanship, safety, and professionalism. Responsibilities Construct and repair walls, patios, walkways, steps, chimneys, retaining walls, and other masonry structures Install brick, block, natural stone, veneer stone, pavers, and concrete materials Prepare job sites by measuring, marking, grading, excavating, and setting proper foundations Mix and apply mortar, concrete, grout, and other masonry materials Cut and shape stone, brick, block, and pavers using appropriate tools and equipment Read and follow project plans, drawings, specifications, and layout instructions Ensure proper alignment, level, drainage, structural integrity, and finished appearance Perform masonry repairs, restoration work, repointing, and replacement of damaged materials Operate masonry tools and equipment safely and maintain them in good working condition Keep job sites clean, organized, and safe throughout each project Work effectively with crew members, supervisors, contractors, and customers Follow all company safety procedures and applicable building requirements Complete projects efficiently while maintaining attention to detail and quality workmanship Qualifications Previous experience in masonry, hardscaping, construction, or a related trade preferred Knowledge of brick, block, stone, concrete, pavers, and mortar installation techniques Ability to accurately measure, level, lay out, and complete masonry projects Ability to read construction plans and follow project specifications Experience operating hand tools, power tools, saws, compactors, mixers, and other masonry equipment Strong attention to detail and pride in quality craftsmanship Ability to work independently and as part of a team Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license preferred Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Ability to safely lift and carry heavy materials and perform physically demanding work Strong work ethic, dependability, and professional attitude Physical Requirements The position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, lifting, carrying, climbing, and working with heavy masonry materials. Candidates must be able to perform physically demanding work safely and work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
