In this role, you will be responsible for constructing, repairing, and restoring structures using bricks, stones, concrete blocks, and other building materials. Your expertise will help bring architectural visions to life, ensuring durability, safety, and aesthetic appeal. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, from new builds to restoration and renovation efforts, contributing to high-quality craftsmanship on every site. Jobs will be located in or around Lafayette and surrounding areas. Duties Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute masonry projects according to specifications. Lay bricks, stones, concrete blocks, and other materials with precision using hand tools and power tools. Mix and apply mortar or other bonding agents to secure masonry units effectively. Install rebar reinforcement and perform concrete forming and finishing for structural stability. Build masonry scaffolds safely to access elevated work areas and ensure compliance with safety protocols. Execute specialty tasks such as heavy equipment operation as needed. Maintain a clean work environment by properly handling building materials and disposing of debris in accordance with safety standards. Qualifications Proven experience in masonry work, bricklaying, or related construction fields. Strong knowledge of construction estimating, blueprint reading, interpreting technical drawings, and schematic schematics. Skilled in the use of hand tools (trowels, chisels), power tools (drills, saws), and heavy equipment relevant to masonry tasks. Familiarity with construction site safety protocols and adherence to OSHA standards. Ability to interpret construction plans and specifications accurately for precise execution of projects. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt quickly to changing project requirements while maintaining quality standards.
