The ideal candidate will have a well-rounded knowledge of masonry and stone installation, along with the ability to work independently and as part of a crew. This position is ideal for a hands-on mason who takes pride in quality craftsmanship, understands proper installation techniques, and has experience working with a variety of masonry materials and applications. Responsibilities Install and repair natural stone, manufactured stone, brick, block, and other masonry materials Perform stone veneer installation on residential and commercial projects Measure, cut, shape, and fit stone using hand and power tools Install proper flashing, drainage planes, moisture barriers, and other components associated with masonry systems Mix and apply mortar and other bonding materials Build and repair walls, chimneys, fireplaces, veneers, retaining walls, and other masonry structures Read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, measurements, and job specifications Lay out work accurately and maintain proper lines, levels, patterns, and dimensions Understand and follow proper masonry installation techniques and industry best practices Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site Operate masonry tools and equipment safely Work efficiently while maintaining a high standard of craftsmanship Assist with training and guiding less experienced crew members when needed Communicate professionally with supervisors, coworkers, contractors, and customers Qualifications Previous professional experience as a Stone Mason, Mason, or Masonry Installer Strong, well-rounded knowledge of masonry techniques and construction practices Experience with natural stone and manufactured stone veneer is strongly preferred Knowledge of brick, block, mortar, flashing, waterproofing, and drainage systems Ability to accurately measure, cut, and install masonry materials Ability to read blueprints and construction plans is preferred Strong understanding of proper layout, leveling, and alignment Ability to work independently and solve problems on the job site High attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship Physically able to lift and carry heavy materials and perform demanding construction work Reliable transportation and dependable attendance Valid driver's license preferred Ability to work well as part of a team What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who is more than just experienced in one type of masonry.
