Summary As a Brick Mason, you will construct and repair brick, block, and stone structures, reading blueprints and interpreting specifications to ensure precise masonry work. Reporting to a foreman or supervisor, you'll lay foundations, install recoated brickwork, and apply plaster and finishing touches with accuracy and safety. Your strong skills in blueprint reading, bricklaying, and concrete-related tasks, complemented by experience with hand tools and construction practices, will help deliver durable, high-quality masonry projects on schedule. Your role contributes to safe, well-constructed buildings and lasting structural integrity. Qualifications Bricklaying and masonry experience with ability to interpret blueprints and specifications Proficient use of hand tools, concrete forming, plastering, and basic concrete finishing Knowledge of rebar installation, hardscape work, and building material installation Construction site experience with safety practices (OSHA 10 familiarity preferred) Renovation and carpentry exposure, including trim carpentry and caulking basics Responsibilities Read blueprints and specifications to determine layout, dimensions, and material requirements for brickwork and related tasks. Measure, cut, and lay bricks or concrete blocks; mix mortar and apply with trowel to ensure level, plumb, and reinforced structures. Install rebar as required, build formwork, and perform plastering or stucco as needed for finishes. Construct and repair walls, arches, partitions, and façades; perform concrete finishing and surface restoration as required. Inspect work for quality and safety, adhere to OSHA 10 guidelines, and coordinate with crew and site supervisors. Maintain tools and equipment, tidy work area, and follow project schedules for timely completion.
