9666966-45040 Job Description Make a meaningful impact supporting students in a K-4th grade setting as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing. This contract opportunity is designed for professionals passionate about helping young learners reach their full potential. Youll play a vital role in enhancing communication and academic success for students who are deaf or hard of hearing, collaborating closely with school teams and families.
What Youll Do:
Provide direct and consultative services for K-4th grade students who are deaf or hard of hearing. Develop and implement individual education plans in partnership with IEP teams. Support teachers in modifying and adapting curriculum to meet students needs. Foster a positive and accessible classroom environment using best practices in deaf education. Monitor progress and regularly communicate findings to school staff and families. Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with educational requirements. Commit to service delivery of 180 minutes per month, offering consistent and reliable support.
Preferred Qualifications:
Valid state certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing. Experience supporting elementary-aged students in a school environment. Strong understanding of language development, auditory/visual learning strategies, and communication modalities (e.g., ASL, total communication). Excellent collaboration, organization, and documentation skills. Ability to adapt services to a variety of learning needs and settings.
