Chimney Mason Lioncrest Roofing & Chimney Portland, OR Job Details Full-time | Contract $32 - $45 an hour 17 hours ago Benefits Safety equipment provided Opportunities for advancement Qualifications Gig economy work experience Driver's License Clean workspace maintenance Demolition Full Job Description Job Overview Install or repair chimney caps, mortar wash, flashing-adjacent masonry, firebox masonry, and other chimney components as needed.
Match Existing Work:
Match brick, mortar color, joint profiles, and surrounding masonry as closely as practical for professional finished results.
Inspect & Identify Issues:
Recognize common chimney deterioration, water intrusion, mortar failure, and structural concerns and communicate findings to the project manager.
Coordinate With Other Crews:
Work alongside Lioncrest roofing, chimney, and production teams when projects involve both masonry and roofing components. Maintain a
Clean Jobsite:
Protect customers' homes and landscaping, maintain an organized work area, and leave jobsites clean upon completion.
Follow Safety Standards:
Properly use ladders, scaffolding, fall protection, PPE, and other required safety equipment.
Qualifications Masonry Experience:
At least 2 years of professional masonry experience preferred, particularly with brick, mortar, tuckpointing, chimney repair, or residential masonry.
Chimney Experience:
Previous chimney rebuilding, crown repair, tuckpointing, or chimney restoration experience strongly preferred.
Technical Skills:
Ability to mix and work with mortar, lay brick, maintain consistent joints, perform demolition, and complete detailed masonry repairs.
Problem Solving:
Ability to evaluate existing masonry conditions and determine the proper repair approach based on the assigned scope.
Physical Ability:
Able to repeatedly lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, work from roofs or scaffolding, and perform physically demanding work.
Comfort With Heights:
Must be comfortable safely working on residential roofs and elevated chimney structures.
Transportation:
Reliable truck or van preferred.
License & Clean Record:
Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
Professionalism:
Dependable, punctual, respectful with homeowners, and committed to producing high-quality work.
Schedule & Availability Job Type:
Full-time, Independent contractor / subcontractor opportunities available.
Hours:
Typically 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday.
Additional Hours:
Occasional weekend or overtime opportunities may be available.
Service Area:
Greater Portland and surrounding communities. Start and end times may vary based on project location.
Pay & Benefits Hourly Wage:
$32-$45 per hour based on masonry experience, chimney experience, speed, and demonstrated skill level.
Performance Opportunities:
Additional performance-based compensation may be available based on productivity and quality of work.
Safety Equipment Provided:
Harnesses and required fall-protection equipment provided.
Consistent Work:
Opportunity to work on chimney rebuilds, tuckpointing, crowns, masonry repairs, and other projects through an established roofing and chimney company.
Advancement Opportunities:
Qualified employees may advance into Lead Mason, Crew Lead, or Field Supervisor positions as the company grows.
