Incorporated in 1985, Fountainhead Development, Inc. specializes in property management and is the largest privately-owned hotelier in Alaska. FDI owns and operates Sophie Station Suites, Wedgewood Resort, and the Bear Lodge. Each of these properties offers guest accommodations, fine dining establishments, and a variety of guest services. Our commercial properties include holdings in excess of 540,000 square feet of rental space, which we manage, lease, and maintain. This diversified corporation is also involved in the construction industry with a year-round operation developing commercial properties. We are looking for a qualified Carpenter to join our Fountainhead Team!

Position:

Seasonal Carpenter Position Summary:

Performs basic carpentry and maintenance duties.

Duties:

• Read work orders or receive instructions from supervisors to determine work requirements
• Read and understand instructions, blueprints, sketches, or building plans to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required
• Measure and mark materials and/or object for cutting and/or installation or assembly
• Shape or cut materials to specified measurements
• Install structures or fixtures
• Perform framing, roofing, drywall, concrete, trim, asphalt patching, painting, and fine maintenance & repair work
• Use appropriate tools and equipment to perform the work
• Drive company vehicle
• Clean work area upon project completion
• Other duties as assigned

Education, Knowledge and Skills:

• Valid Alaska Driver's License
• Current driving record sufficient to meet company insurance standards
• 5 years carpentry experience preferred
• Familiar with and able to use common carpentry and general maintenance tools, techniques and practices
• Able to communicate effectively with supervisors and co-workers, to include effectively conveying information to others, and giving full attention to what other people are saying and taking the time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times, taking instruction from multiple sources and communicating with management regarding conflict of priorities • Able to lift 60 lbs.

• Able to perform physical activities that require considerable use and dexterity of arms, legs, and moving the whole body, to include, but not limited to, sitting, walking, bending, squatting, stooping, twisting, kneeling, reaching, tugging, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, climbing and descending stairs and ladders, and standing for long periods of time; to verbally communicate to exchange information; to see and hear within a reasonable range for a construction environment with or without correction.

Work Location:

Includes all property owned by Fountainhead Development, Inc.

Hours:

Generally Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. May include weekends and overtime as needed.
