Multi Skill Carpenter - Travel Required Creature - 4.5 Birmingham, AL Job Details Full-time 1 day ago Benefits Health insurance 401(k) matching Qualifications Driver's License Commercial building projects Full Job Description Multi-Skill Carpenter Creature
  • Birmingham, AL
  • Full-Time
  • Travel Required About Creature Creature is a vertically integrated Design-Manufacture-Construct (DMC) company built to eliminate the inefficiencies of traditional construction.
We design, manufacture, and build as one team—leveraging self-perform trades, modular methodologies, and disciplined field execution to deliver projects that are faster, higher quality, and lower cost. We believe our best work happens when it's self-performed—and our carpentry crews are proof of that. Purpose of the Role Execute commercial finish and rough carpentry scope across a wide range of installation types—framing, ceilings, millwork, drywall, finishes, painting, and ICRA barriers. The Multi-Skill Carpenter owns their work area, protects quality through every phase, and delivers installations that don't come back. Core Accountability Own the safe, efficient, and accurate execution of commercial carpentry installations across multi-state projects—moving fluidly between scopes, eliminating waste, and delivering work that meets Creature's quality standard without rework. Key Accountabilities Safety Own your safety compliance every shift—pre-task plans, hazard
ID, ICRA
barrier integrity, and Procore documentation completed without prompting. Never work around an unsafe condition. Labor, Material & Tool Management Efficiency Execute across all assigned scopes—framing, ceiling grid and tile, millwork, drywall, finishes, painting, and ICRA barriers—with the right materials and tools staged and ready. Shortages and damage reported same shift. Accurate Time & Productivity Tracking Log time and production quantities daily in Procore, on time and accurate. Flag variances to your Foreman with facts, not estimates. Ruthless Elimination of Waste Install right the first time, self-check before calling for inspection, and surface constraints the moment they appear—not after they cost time. Traits That Define Success Ownership Mentality — You own your scope, your tools, your data, and your performance. Compelling Conscientiousness — You install it right the first time, every time. Accountability is Reliability — Your crew and Foreman can count on what you say you'll do. Mastery of Communication — You surface problems early, clearly, and with context. Accomplishment over Activity — You measure yourself by production output, not hours on site. Qualifications Must-Have 5+ years of commercial carpentry experience across multiple installation types Demonstrated proficiency in at least the majority of: metal and wood framing, ceiling grid and tile, millwork, drywall installation and finish, painting, and ICRA barrier installation Commercial project background required Valid driver's license; willingness to travel full-time across multi-state project locations Pre-employment drug screen and background check required Preferred Healthcare facility experience (ICRA protocols, infection control environments) Experience with prefab and modular construction methods Proficiency in Procore for time tracking, production logging, and safety documentation OSHA 10 certification Why Creature Creature is building something rare: a fully integrated platform where the people who design, manufacture, and build are the same people. If you take pride in versatility, want to see your work drive real project outcomes, and are ready to operate in a system built for high performance, this is where you belong. Competitive wages, per diem, travel expense coverage, health benefits, 401(k) with match, and a performance-based bonus program. Creature is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate craftsmanship, character, and commitment to the build.
