Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and motivated Fabricator to join our dynamic and play an integral role in our fabrication shop. Must be comfortable working with multiple mediums (plywood, MDF, solid woods). Ideal applicant would be comfortable manipulating the wood using planters, saws, routers, and sanders to achieve desired look and finish Responsibilities Maintain a safe working environment by monitoring safety procedures and equipment. Review work throughout the work process and at completion to ensure that it has been performed properly. Inform designated employees or departments of items loaded or problems encountered. Examine freight to determine loading sequences. Collaborate with workers and managers to solve work-related problems. Check specifications of materials loaded or unloaded against information contained in work orders. Inspect equipment for wear and for conformance to specifications. Refer personnel problems, complaints, or formal grievances when possible to higher-level supervisors for resolution. Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and sketches for builds. Utilize the right resources necessary for projects in accordance with cost, quality and quantity specifications set by the shop foreman. Ability to take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed. Assist with material handling or moving activities. Understand regulations, policies, or procedures. Inspect work area to ensure compliance with safety, quality, or service standards. Inspect material-moving equipment to detect problems. Notify others and manager of emergencies, problems, or hazards. Verify information or specifications. Help maintain inventory system, and track assets as they circulate. Driving Company vehicles on occasion. Show site support as needed. Assist with cleaning and organization of workstations. Ability to use safety equipment, understanding the need and uses. Full knowledge of using table saw, miter saw, panel saw, router and other power procedures. Full knowledge and ability to laminate with different materials such as Formica, WilsonArt and water based spray adhesives. Knowledge of mixing Bondo and wood filler. Able to install laminates and phenolic backers. Great ability to use power tools. Identify complex problems and review to find solutions. Monitor performance and organization to suggest improvements to Shop Foreman. Must be able to follow instructions at all times. Ability to recommend best practices for material and methodology to meet safety, aesthetic, and budgetary expectations of each project. Must be able to follow set schedules set by Shop Foreman. Must be able to cut, shape and smooth lumber and other materials according to the measurements Ability to build walls, window frames, staircases and frames by using raw materials. Ability to build, laminate furniture, cabinets, walls, shelves and other items and install them where designated. Inspect places and conduct repairs or maintenance.
Education & Experience:
5 Years of related experience preferred HS Diploma/GED required Possess a valid driver's license Experience using Google Suite (Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, Slack, etc,) Technical Skills Conducting tests and inspections of services or processes to evaluate quality or performance. Ensure that shop machinery is used properly and receives scheduled in-house and authorized vendor maintenance. Controlling operations of equipment or systems. Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it. Tools Forklifts (Lift trucks, Forklifts), Box sealing tape dispensers (Tape guns), Claw hammer,Dollies, Glue guns, Hand trucks or accessories, Hoists (Power hoists), Jacks (Hydraulic jacks), Lifting hooks (Hoisting hooks), Pallet trucks (Pallet jacks), Planes (Hand planes), Power saws, Saws (Hand saws), Scaffolding, Slings (Material-hoisting slings), Track cranes (Overhead cranes), Utility knives, Winches (Hydraulic winches), Wrapping machinery, Power Saw, hand tools, power tools,routers, skill saws, orbital sander, jigsaw and rulers, etc.
Environment/Physical Demands:
Frequently standing/sitting/walking up to 8 hours per day Frequently using hands/arms up to 8 hours per day Regularly lifting between 5 - 50 lbs. Regularly team lifting between 50 - 100 lbs. Pay:
$22.00 - $35.00 per hour
