Chris G TV inc. is seeking multiple skilled scenic carpenters with experience in the entertainment and or event scenic industry. Scenic carpenters will be responsible for constructing, fabricating, and installing a variety of set pieces. This role requires the ability to follow directions and blueprints as well as being a team player. We have numerous projects with varying timelines and try to keep a core team of staff employed throughout the year. As we grow full-time opportunities do arise.
Key Responsibilities:
Measurements and Materials:
The understanding of nominal material sizes and the ability to minimize waste.
Blueprints and Drawings:
Read blueprints, drawings, and sketches with a goal of understanding the finish product as well as the process required to achieve that.
Fabrication:
Safely cut lumber and other materials using hand and power tools, adhering to all safety guidelines and industry standards.
Construction:
Build scenic flats, window frames, doors, staircases, props, cabinets, and various scenic elements and install them as intended.
Organization:
Maintain clean, organized, workspace to minimize accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of fabrication experience in scenic industry.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in reading blueprints and shop drawings, and in using electric and manual carpentry tools (e.g., routers, table saw, miter saw, etc.)
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift and carry at least 50 lbs regularly.
Tools:
Must own a personal tool kit, including essential tools like a hammer, screw gun, tape measure, and various hand tools.
Communication Skills:
The ability to communicate with other staff, and clients is extremely important.
Environment:
Scenic carpenters will not only work in our facility, but also on job site installations, which could be a studio, event space, or other environment. We maintain a clean shop and ask that all employees follow our company handbook and rules outlined in the job description for which you were hired. .

$35.00 - $40.00 per hour
