Lead Framing Carpenter (Working Site Lead) Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled, hands-on Lead Framing Carpenter to drive our high-end residential projects. This is not a desk job. You will wear your toolbelt every day, leading by example while actively framing, performing complex layouts, and erecting structures. Alongside the physical carpentry work, you will act as the working foreman—directing the crew, coordinating daily materials, reading architectural plans, and ensuring the site runs efficiently. Core Responsibilities Hands-on Framing:

Perform complex rough framing, structural work, roof pitching, and precise layouts for high-end custom homes.

Site Leadership:

Lead, work alongside, and mentor a crew of carpenters and laborers to maintain high productivity, morale, and quality standards.

Blueprint Execution:

Read and accurately interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and architectural plans to translate designs into flawless physical structures.

Daily Operations:

Manage day-to-day site logistics, including material take-offs, receiving deliveries, and coordinating with specialty subcontractors.

Quality & Safety:

Enforce OSHA safety protocols, maintain a clean and secure job site, and conduct daily quality checks on all completed work.

Problem Solving:

Identify and resolve constructability and design issues on the fly, communicating effectively with project managers, architects, and homeowners. Experience & Requirements 5+ years of hands-on rough framing experience, specifically in custom or high-end residential construction. Proven track record of simultaneously running a crew while performing physical carpentry work (working foreman/lead carpenter experience). Expert-level ability to read blueprints and perform complex construction math (e.g., stair calculations, rafter lengths, and load paths). Deep knowledge of local building codes, structural tolerances, and best practices for weatherproofing and framing. Must possess your own comprehensive set of hand tools (specialty/heavy power tools provided by the company). Physical capability to perform demanding manual labor, lift heavy materials, and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
