We design, sell, and distribute luxury custom seating to interior designers and boutique/luxury retailers around the world. About the Role Burton James is seeking a skilled Framer / Carpenter to support our Frame & Build team. This role involves cutting and assembling wood frames for custom upholstered furniture, as well as general carpentry to create other wood components. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to consistent quality, accurate measurements, and efficient work habits. Core Responsibilities Measure, cut, and assemble solid hardwood frames for custom upholstered furniture by following work orders, shop drawings, and reference photos Fabricate wood components such as frames, legs, bases, and other parts using standard carpentry techniques Operate woodworking machinery and hand tools, including table saws, miter saws, band saws, planers, and jointers, safely and accurately Install blocking, reinforcement, and other required components during and after frame assembly Routinely check measurements, squareness, and alignment prior to releasing frames to the next department Make adjustments or repairs as needed to ensure frames meet quality and measurement standards Follow daily build schedules and priorities as assigned by the department lead Additional Expectations Be punctual and dependable; provide advance notice of schedule conflicts or absences Demonstrate a willingness to learn new techniques and improve skills over time Maintain a clean, organized workstation; care for tools and equipment to ensure longevity; and follow all safety protocols What we can do for you: Play a pivotal role in our company's transformation and growth Align with a growing company that operates in the luxury market Provide training and career development opportunities Enjoy a high-paced and collaborative work environment Eligible for up to a 6% employer 401(k) contribution following six months of employment Take advantage of paid time off away from work, including scheduled company holidays Participate in competitive benefits and incentivizing programs Team building company sponsored events Employee discount and bi-annual sample sale Experience & Qualifications 2-4 years of experience in furniture framing or carpentry, ideally in high-end or custom furniture production Experience with precise measuring, cutting, and assembly, and familiarity with hardwoods, plywood, and other materials commonly used in furniture construction Strong attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship Ability to work efficiently and independently while communicating clearly and working well as part of a team Bilingual in English and Spanish is highly preferred but not required
