Rene Cazares, a high-end furniture manufacturer located in the City of Industry, CA, is seeking a highly skilled Master Furniture Carpenter / Case Goods Craftsman to join our manufacturing team. We are looking for an experienced furniture carpenter with a strong background in high-end furniture construction, case goods, cabinetry, woodworking, and custom furniture assembly . Veneer experience is important; however, the primary focus of this position is advanced furniture carpentry and the ability to build, assemble, fit, modify, and troubleshoot wood furniture components from start to finish. The ideal candidate is a true craftsman who understands furniture construction and can work confidently with solid wood, plywood, MDF, veneer, hardware, and other materials used in high-end furniture manufacturing. This position will work on a variety of products including coffee tables, dining tables, credenzas, cabinets, consoles, occasional tables, and custom wood furniture pieces. Candidates should be comfortable working from drawings, measurements, samples, and existing furniture pieces while maintaining a high level of precision and craftsmanship. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesFurniture Carpentry and Case Goods Construction Build and assemble high-end wood furniture, case goods, cabinets, tables, and custom furniture components. Construct, fit, modify, and repair wood frames, panels, drawers, doors, bases, and other furniture components. Measure, cut, shape, drill, fit, and assemble wood and engineered wood materials with a high degree of accuracy. Square, clamp, join, and secure components to ensure furniture is level, structurally sound, and properly fitted. Identify and correct construction, fit, alignment, or dimensional issues during the manufacturing process. Work from drawings, work orders, measurements, cut lists, samples, and existing furniture pieces. Understand furniture joinery and proper construction methods for high-end furniture. Perform custom fitting and adjustments when components do not fit according to specifications. Verify dimensions and construction prior to final assembly. Repair or modify wood components when necessary to meet production and quality requirements. Hardware and Component Installation Install hinges, drawer slides, handles, pulls, brackets, fasteners, and other furniture hardware. Build, fit, and install drawers and doors. Adjust doors, drawers, hinges, and slides to ensure proper spacing, alignment, and operation. Troubleshoot and correct hardware or assembly issues as needed. Veneer Preparation and Application Measure, cut, match, and apply veneer to furniture components. Understand veneer grain direction, matching, seams, and proper placement. Operate veneer presses and apply adhesives according to manufacturing standards. Trim, sand, and prepare veneered surfaces for finishing. Identify and correct veneer defects including lifting, bubbles, poor bonding, or misalignment. Material and Surface Preparation Work with solid wood, MDF, plywood, veneer, and other furniture materials. Inspect materials and components prior to assembly. Fill, patch, repair, sand, and prepare wood components as needed. Identify material defects or construction issues before they affect the finished product. Equipment and Tools Safely and proficiently use woodworking machinery, power tools, and hand tools. Operate saws, routers, drills, sanders, trimmers, clamps, veneer presses, and other woodworking equipment. Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Follow all company safety policies and procedures. Quality Control Inspect completed furniture for construction, fit, alignment, stability, and appearance. Ensure drawers, doors, hinges, slides, and hardware operate correctly. Identify and correct defects before furniture is released to the next stage of production. Maintain the high level of craftsmanship expected in luxury furniture manufacturing. Communicate construction, material, or quality concerns to management in a timely manner. Qualifications Minimum 5 years of professional furniture carpentry, cabinetmaking, case goods construction, or high-end woodworking experience strongly preferred. Advanced knowledge of furniture construction and woodworking techniques. Experience building and assembling case goods, cabinetry, tables, or custom wood furniture. Strong ability to measure, cut, fit, modify, and assemble furniture components accurately. Experience installing and adjusting drawers, doors, hinges, drawer slides, and furniture hardware. Veneer application experience strongly preferred. Ability to troubleshoot furniture construction and fit issues independently. Ability to read drawings, work orders, measurements, and cut lists. Knowledge of solid wood, wood species, plywood, MDF, veneer, adhesives, and furniture construction materials. Proficiency with woodworking machinery, power tools, and hand tools. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and craftsmanship. Ability to lift and move furniture components as needed. Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining quality standards. Ideal Candidate We are looking for an experienced furniture craftsman, not an entry-level assembler . The ideal candidate has spent years building furniture or cabinetry and understands how a piece should be constructed, fitted, and corrected when something is not working properly. This individual should be able to look at a furniture piece, drawing, or component and understand how it needs to come together. We value someone who can think through construction challenges, make precise adjustments, and take ownership of the quality of their work.

Pay:

$23.00 - $25.00 per hour
