Job Description

PURPOSE:
To help carpenters by performing duties requiring less skill. Duties include using, supplying, or holding material or tools, and cleaning work area and equipment. Clean work areas, machines, or equipment, to maintain a clean and safe job site. Assist Carpenter in layouts. Install fasteners/hardware. Place and nail blocking and bracing. Assist in aligning and squaring walls. Cut miscellaneous material to size as directed by carpenter. Stacking trusses, install fascia and roof sheathing Other duties as necessary.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
Framing or woodworking experience strongly preferred. Must be able to travel to various job sites. Must be able to pass a drug test. Must provide original, valid, and unexpired document(s) that satisfy the Form I-9 employment
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Ability to follow instructions from supervisors, foremen, and carpenters. Ability to use basic power tools and hand tools. Ability to add and subtract in all units of standard US measures, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Must be able to read a tape measure. Must be alert to surroundings; position requires high degree of situational awareness. Ability to bend, stop and move repetitively while working with power tools. Ability wo work outside, in all-weather conditions, frequent walking, standing, bending, and reaching. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently and greater than 100 lbs. Occasionally. Ability to work a variety of shifts including days, evenings and weekends.
