Full Job Description Carpenter Job Summary:
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Carpenter to join our team! You will collaborate with project manager and other members of the building team to construct, install, and repair various structures. You must know how to read and interpret blueprints, have the ability to work with a variety of materials, own and have a good working knowledge of industry tools. It is preferable that you have a flexible schedule as projects may require additional attention as they near completion.
Job Scope:
Perform Finish Carpentry tasks under the direct supervision of the superintendent. Position requires heavy lifting, climbing ladders, traversing scaffolding, working with power tools, working in inclement weather.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Finish carpentry including casing and base installation. Possess general construction knowledge. Possess math skills, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Able to read and use a tape measure. Proficient use of hand and power tools. Demolition of structural framing, sheathing, and siding, including selective demolition of interior and exterior building finishes. Rough framing of walls, floors, roofs, decks, blocking, and sheathing. Door and hardware installation. Construction and installation of exterior trim, exterior siding, exterior decking, and handrails. Ability to learn, follow directions, and work cohesively with others. Work both indoors and outdoors year-round.
Quality:
Perform work as instructed and consistent with quality standards. Take pride in work performed and contribute to the common goal of exceeding client expectations.
Personnel Management:
Arrive on time and work efficiently. Work cooperatively in a team environment. Come to work with a positive attitude. Engage in professional conduct on the job site in the presence of clients, subcontractors, and coworkers. Must own standard set of tools and pass a background check.
Safety:
Maintain OSHA 30 certification. Wear protective equipment. Follow safety policies and protocol specific to the project and situation and report any violations to the Superintendent. Complete site orientation to learn quality standards and safety expectations. $25-$35 per hour, based on experience. Equal Employment Opportunity.
