Job Description
Commercial Carpenter Start ASAP Overview We're seeking experienced Commercial Carpenters to join a large retail remodel project in Portland, OR area. This is a great opportunity for skilled carpenters who enjoy a mix of rough and finish carpentry and want consistent hours on a fast-paced commercial construction site. You'll play a key role from the early phases of construction through project completion, handling everything from framing and drywall installation to trim work, fixtures, cabinetry, and final finishes. Responsibilities Perform wood and metal stud framing for commercial interior construction Hang, secure, and finish drywall according to project specifications Install plywood, blocking, and temporary protections as needed Complete rough carpentry tasks including layout, cutting, measuring, and installation Install doors, hardware, trim, fixtures, cabinetry, and finish details Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and construction plans Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and carpentry equipment Essential Skills Commercial carpentry experience required Experience with metal stud framing and drywall installation Ability to perform both rough and finish carpentry Comfortable reading blueprints and construction drawings Proficient with common carpentry hand and power tools Strong measurement and layout skills Reliable transportation and dependable attendance Personal basic carpentry tools preferred Why Work Here? You will work Monday through Friday, 10-hour days, with a typical schedule ending at approximately 5:00 PM. The role is structured as a three-month contract tied to the project timeline, with potential for continued work after the initial launch depending on future projects. The environment is an active construction site within a retail setting, requiring awareness of surrounding mall operations and adherence to safety practices. You will regularly use power tools, hand tools, tape measures, and other standard carpentry equipment, and you are expected to bring your own basic carpentry tools. Work will include both rough and finish carpentry tasks, often at varying heights and in partially completed spaces. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Tigard, OR. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
