Washington, DC Job Details Full-time $30.34 - $45.00 an hour 3 hours ago Benefits Paid time off Full Job Description Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Commercial Carpenter to join our team and contribute to a variety of construction projects. In this role, you will be responsible for executing high-quality carpentry work on federal goveremnt projects, interpreting technical drawings, and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to exact specifications. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in construction practices, excellent craftsmanship, and a proactive attitude to every task. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a dedicated team committed to excellence in the construction industry. Responsibilities Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute project requirements. Measure, cut, assemble, and install wood framing, drywall, cabinetry, doors, siding, trim, and other wood construction materials with precision. Operate hand tools and power tools for woodworking safely and efficiently while adhering to all safety protocols. Perform heavy lifting and physical tasks necessary for framing, rebar installation, concrete forming, roofing, siding, and restoration projects. Fabricate custom components using woodworking machines or CNC equipment as needed for specific project requirements. Install fixtures such as cabinets, doors, moldings, and hardware with attention to detail. Assist in remodeling projects including flooring installation, tile laying, plastering, caulking, stucco application, electrical work, plumbing integration, masonry tasks, and water damage restoration. Maintain a clean and organized work environment on-site while following all safety regulations related to power tool safety and construction site procedures. Collaborate with project managers and team members to ensure timely completion of projects within scope and quality standards. Qualifications Proven experience in construction estimating, blueprint reading, residential carpentry or commercial framing is highly desirable. Proficiency with hand tools and power tools used in woodworking and general carpentry tasks. Strong understanding of construction plans including schematics for fixtures or electrical layouts. Knowledge of woodworking machines and CNC equipment is a plus. Experience working on construction sites with exposure to heavy lifting and various environmental conditions. Familiarity with building codes related to drywall installation, metal stud framing, roofing, siding, stucco application, masonry or restoration industry standards. Ability to interpret technical drawings accurately for precise fabrication and installation tasks. Excellent safety awareness regarding power tool operation and site safety protocols. Additional skills such as plastering, rebar installation, fabrication work or remodeling experience will be considered advantageous. Join us if you're passionate about craftsmanship!
