Job Description

Lead Carpenter / Remodeling Foreman TC Carpentry | Delaware You already know how to run a job. We're looking for someone ready to own one. TC Carpentry is growing, and we're looking for an experienced Lead Carpenter / Remodeling Foreman who can take ownership of residential remodeling projects from start to finish. This is not an entry-level carpenter position , and we aren't looking for someone who needs to be told what to do next. We're looking for the person who is already the guy everyone turns to on the jobsite. Maybe you're technically a carpenter at your current company, but you're already laying out the work, answering everyone's questions, fixing other people's mistakes, talking with homeowners, figuring out materials, and making sure the job actually gets finished. If you're already carrying that responsibility, we want to give you the position, authority, compensation, and opportunity that should come with it. What You'll Do You'll be trusted to take ownership of your projects.
That includes:
Running residential remodeling projects from start through completion Leading and directing a small crew Planning the sequence of work and staying ahead of the schedule Reviewing scopes, plans, and project expectations Identifying material and labor needs before they become problems Coordinating with management and subcontractors Communicating professionally with homeowners Performing skilled carpentry alongside your crew when needed Maintaining quality standards throughout the project Completing punch lists and delivering a finished project you're proud to put your name on Our work can include kitchens, bathrooms, basements, decks, additions, framing, drywall, doors and windows, trim, flooring, and larger residential renovations. Who We're Looking For We're looking for an experienced residential remodeling professional , not simply someone who has spent years around construction. You should be able to walk onto a project, understand what needs to happen, develop a plan, organize your crew, and move the project forward without someone standing over your shoulder. You should have strong experience with multiple phases of residential construction and remodeling and be comfortable solving the problems that inevitably come up in the field. Most importantly, we're looking for someone who: Takes ownership Thinks ahead Holds themselves and their crew to a high standard Communicates well Shows up consistently Solves problems instead of passing them along Takes pride in the finished product Wants more responsibility and an opportunity to grow Why Leave a Job You're Already Good At? Because the right person shouldn't have to change companies just to get another dollar an hour. We're offering an opportunity to build something. TC Carpentry is growing, and we're building a field leadership team that can run multiple projects without sacrificing quality. We want our Lead Carpenters to have real responsibility and real authority over their jobs — and as the company grows, we want the people who helped us build it to grow with us. For the right person, this position can develop beyond Lead Carpenter into Field Supervisor / Project Management leadership , with increased responsibility and compensation. We're looking for someone who wants to be able to look back a few years from now and say: "I got in when this company was growing, proved what I could do, and built a real position for myself here." What You Can Expect From Us You can expect clear expectations, consistent work, respect for your experience, and owners who are actively involved in building the company. We don't expect perfection. Construction doesn't work that way. We do expect ownership. If something goes wrong, tell us. If you need something, communicate it. If you see a better way to do something, speak up. Good people should be trusted to do their jobs. Compensation Competitive Lead Carpenter compensation based on experience and ability. We're willing to pay for someone who can truly run work independently. This is not a position where the most experienced candidate gets squeezed into the same pay range as everyone else. If you can demonstrate that you can successfully lead crews and deliver profitable, high-quality projects, we're prepared to compensate accordingly. Opportunities for increased compensation and performance-based incentives are available as responsibility grows. The Interview Is Different, Too We're less interested in hearing the perfect interview answers and more interested in seeing how you think. We'll talk through real projects, real jobsite situations, scheduling, crew management, materials, and problem-solving. If you're currently employed, that's okay. We understand that the best people usually already have jobs. Conversations will be handled professionally and discreetly. You don't need to be actively looking to know when a better opportunity comes along. Think you've outgrown your current position? Send us your information. Even if you're not sure you're ready to make a move, we're happy to have a conversation.
