Key Responsibilities:
Tile & Stone Installation Surface Prep:
Prepare, clean, and level surfaces, ensuring proper water barriers and backing are installed for wet areas like showers.
Layout & Measurement:
Plan layout and tile patterns (straight, diagonal, herringbone, mosaic) to minimize cuts and align with architectural drawings.
Cutting & Setting:
Cut ceramic, porcelain, glass, or natural stone using wet saws and grinders. Lay tile using mortars and adhesives.
Finishing:
Apply grout, install trim pieces, and seal/polish the final installation for a durable, aesthetic, and waterproof finish.
Lead Carpentry & Project Leadership On-Site Management:
Serve as the primary on-site lead, managing daily workflow and coordinating tasks for assistant carpenters or subcontractors.
Finish Carpentry:
Fabricate, install, and adjust custom millwork, trim, cabinets, doors, molding, and baseboards to complement the surrounding tile work.
Client Relations:
Communicate project progress, answer questions, and represent the company as a professional ambassador to the client.
Quality Control:
Read and interpret blueprints, enforce building codes, ensure material take-offs are accurate, and maintain a safe, organized, and dust-controlled job site.
Qualifications & Requirements Experience:
5 to 7+ years of verifiable experience in general carpentry and advanced tile setting.
Skills:
Advanced blueprint reading, layout/geometry skills, proficiency with tile saws, levels, and a full array of power/hand carpentry tools.
Physical Demand:
High physical stamina. The role requires regular bending, kneeling, standing for extended periods, and the ability to lift up to 75 to 100 pounds.
Pay:
$35.00 - $40.00 per hour
