The ideal candidate has strong carpentry skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work with a variety of materials and tools in a marine manufacturing environment. This position is in a boat manufacturing plant. Employees will be regularly exposed to fiberglass dust, resin, and other materials associated with fiberglass boat construction. Applicants must be comfortable working in this type of environment. Schedule Monday - Friday 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM Responsibilities Perform carpentry and woodworking associated with boat construction and manufacturing Measure, cut, fit, and install wood and composite components Build and install storage compartments, seating components, doors, hatches, trim, and other boat components Read and interpret measurements, drawings, and work instructions Use hand tools, power tools, saws, sanders, drills, and other shop equipment safely Modify and adapt components to achieve proper fit and finish Perform repairs, adjustments, and modifications as needed Work closely with other members of the production team to meet construction schedules Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Follow all company safety procedures and manufacturing standards Requirements Previous professional carpentry experience required Marine carpentry, boat building, or related manufacturing experience is preferred Strong knowledge of woodworking techniques, materials, measurements, and construction methods Must be comfortable using hand and power tools Must have your own basic hand tools Ability to accurately measure, cut, fit, and install components Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship Ability to work independently and as part of a team Must be dependable, punctual, and maintain a strong work ethic Must be able to speak, read, and understand English for safety, training, and workplace communication Must be authorized to work in the United States Physical Requirements Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds Must be able to stand and work for extended periods Must be able to bend, kneel, climb, reach, and work in confined or awkward positions as required during boat construction Must be capable of safely operating shop tools and equipment Fiberglass & Respirator Exposure Please understand the work environment before applying. This is a boat manufacturing facility , not a conventional woodworking shop. Employees in this position will be regularly exposed to fiberglass dust, fiberglass materials, resins, and other substances associated with fiberglass boat construction. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is required. Depending on assigned duties, employees may be required to wear respiratory protection. Applicants must be able to meet applicable OSHA respiratory protection requirements , including successfully completing any required medical evaluation and respirator fit testing.
