Fort Myers, FL Concrete Form Carpenter Job Description:
We are looking for experienced Concrete Form Carpenters to build, set, level, and secure concrete forms for commercial construction projects. The ideal candidate will have journeyman-level experience working with concrete formwork and be comfortable working outdoors in a physically demanding environment.Daily responsibilities may include:
- Building and leveling underground formwork for footers, foundation walls, and columns
- Setting grade and securing forms against concrete pressure
- Installing slab edge forms, bulkheads, and construction joints for large concrete pours
- Building formwork for beams, shoring, and elevated decking structures
- Installing forms and screed rails for toppings and finish floors
- Building vertical forms for parapets and roof-edge structures
- Measuring, laying out, squaring, leveling, and plumbing forms
- Reading and following construction plans and layouts
- Using hand and power tools to cut, assemble, adjust, and secure forms
- Maintaining a safe and clean work area Qualifications for
Concrete Form Carpenter:
- Journeyman-level concrete form carpentry experience required
- Commercial construction experience preferred
- Strong experience with concrete formwork, layout, and leveling
- Ability to work with framing lumber, forms, braces, and related materials
- Ability to accurately measure, square, plumb, and level formwork
- Must be comfortable working outdoors
- Must be able to lift materials, bend, kneel, stand, and perform physically demanding work
- Must be able to safely use required hand and power tools
- Must provide and maintain required tools Position requires the use of PPE.
Required Tools:
- 21 oz. to 28 oz. framing hammer
- Heavy-duty leather tool belt/pouches
- 25 ft. or 30 ft. tape measure
- Chalk box
- Speed square
- Magnetic torpedo level
- Utility knife and heavy-duty blades
- 10" or 12" adjustable wrench
- 10" end-cutting pliers
- Framing chisels
- Cat's paw/nail puller
- Flat pry bar
- Plumb bob
- 3 lb. to 4 lb. short-handle sledge/drilling hammer
- Line level and construction string line
- Carpenter pencils and lumber crayons
Additional Requirements:
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
- Must have reliable transportation to the job site
