Job Description

Overview Decked Out is a premium outdoor living contractor in Tallahassee. We build high-end composite and PVC decks, stairs, railing systems, and outdoor structures for homeowners who care about how the work is done. We are hiring a
Tradesman:
a skilled carpenter who can run layout, framing, decking, and finish work to a standard we are proud to put our name on. This is hands-on field work on a three-person crew reporting to a Foreman. You build, you mentor the Apprentice working next to you, and you are on a clear path to running your own crew. We do not chase volume. We take on fewer jobs and build them better, and we promote the people who can hold that standard. Duties Read plans and perform accurate layout for decks, framing, and outdoor structures. Frame substructure, install composite and PVC decking, and set railing systems. Build stairs and complete finish and trim work to premium standards. Operate hand and power tools safely and take care of company tools and materials. Mentor and help train Apprentices on technique, layout, and jobsite standards. Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe from start to punch-out. Follow jobsite safety protocols and protect the customer's property. Flag mistakes, material shortages, and plan conflicts to the Foreman early instead of building through them. Skills Skilled carpentry or construction experience; deck, framing, or exterior build work preferred. Able to read plans and perform accurate layout without being walked through it. Proficient in framing, decking, railing, stairs, and finish carpentry. Comfortable with composite and PVC decking systems, hidden fasteners, and picture-frame borders. Safe, confident use of hand and power tools. Reliable attendance and on-time starts; the crew does not move until everyone is there. Willing to mentor Apprentices and work as part of a crew rather than in a silo. Committed to safety and to premium quality standards on every board, rail, and stair. Valid driver's license preferred. This is full-time, year-round field work on active jobsites in all weather, including standing and walking full shifts, climbing, bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 75 lbs. Our career path runs Apprentice to Tradesman to Foreman, and we promote from within.
