Job Description
About this role Per diem Concrete Carpenter Journeyman needed for industrial and power-plant projects in Abilene, TX. You'll work on large concrete pours and formwork for structural components, following prints and project specifications in a safety-first environment. This role requires a hands-on journeyman who can read and interpret drawings, build and brace wooden and prefabricated forms, place rebar and embeds, pour and finish concrete, and inspect work for quality. Must be able to work at heights, in confined spaces, and follow site safety and testing requirements. What you'll do Read and interpret prints, drawings, plans and specifications; visualize structures in three dimensions from plans Measure, cut, assemble and install built-in-place and prefabricated forms, spreaders, tie-rods, embeds and anchor bolts Pour, consolidate and finish concrete surfaces to project specifications and required tolerances Erect, brace and secure formwork using nails, bolts, anchor rods, cables, planks and timber; maintain required dimensions Inspect and verify work for quality and compliance with plans; identify deficiencies and take corrective action Work safely on site: use fall protection, access platforms/scaffolds, and follow confined-space and site-specific safety procedures What we're looking for Proven experience as a concrete formwork journeyman on industrial or power-plant projects Skilled at reading technical drawings, layout, measuring and cutting to tight tolerances Proficient with hand and power tools, layout tools, rebar installation and concrete finishing techniques Able to lead and inspect crew work, communicate clearly with supervisors and trades, and enforce safety rules Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, in noisy/dusty environments, and lifting up to 50 lbs Able to pass pre-access drug and alcohol screening, fit-for-duty medical, and background check Qualifications Journeyman-level concrete/formwork experience in industrial or power-plant settings OSHA 10 (required) or OSHA 30 (preferred) Confined Space Entry and Fall Protection / Aerial Lift training (preferred or willing to complete) Valid driver's license and ability to travel to Abilene, TX for per diem assignments Willingness to submit to pre-access drug/alcohol testing, fit-for-duty medical screening and background check What we offer Per diem and travel/lodging support for Abilene, TX assignments Overtime and extended-assignment opportunities on long-running industrial projects Site-specific safety and compliance training before access Consistent work on heavy civil and power-plant concrete projects Clear scope of work and on-site supervision with opportunity to lead crews Ready to apply?
