Job Title:
Concrete Finisher/Rough Carpenter The Concrete Finisher/Rough Carpenter is responsible for constructing formwork, placing and finishing concrete, and performing carpentry tasks to support commercial and heavy civil construction projects. This role reads project plans, operates hand and power tools, and works safely and efficiently to deliver high-quality results while maintaining company safety standards.
Job Responsibilities:
Construct formwork into which concrete is poured. Set an outline of the structure on the ground of the site using string and pegs to allow for excavations. Pour, finish and cure horizontal and vertical concrete projects. Erect decks/floors and walls/retaining walls, to included roadways, bridges, heavy highway and/or commercial building projects. Have good working knowledge of OSHA regulations. Read plans and specifications to determine materials required, dimensions, and installation processes. Cut materials with hand and power tools, assemble and nail, cut and shape items. Will assist other workers in various labor-based tasks. This will require lifting (heavy at times). Can work at significant heights. Must have knowledge of all hand tools and how to operate them efficiently. Other misc. duties as directed by your supervisor. Know Company safety policies and adhere to them while working at all times. Able to stoop, kneel, balance and crawl frequently, with the ability to lift 25-75+ lbs. frequently.
Required Qualifications:
Experience in concrete finishing, form carpentry, or a related construction trade. Ability to read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and specifications. Experience constructing, setting, and stripping concrete forms. Knowledge of concrete placement, finishing, curing, and repair techniques. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment used in concrete work. Ability to accurately measure, cut, and assemble formwork and building materials. Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions and on uneven terrain. Reliable transportation to and from jobsites. Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively as part of a team. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and any other required pre-employment testing.
