Position Overview The Handyman / Carpenter will be responsible for performing a wide variety of home repair, carpentry, and property maintenance tasks. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in finish carpentry, general construction, and drywall/patching work. You will interact directly with homeowners, so strong communication skills, a friendly demeanor, and a commitment to cleanliness and precision are essential.
Key Responsibilities Carpentry Work:
Perform general carpentry tasks including framing, trim and molding installation, door/window repairs, cabinet adjustments, and minor structural fixes.
Drywall & Surface Repair:
Assist with hanging sheetrock, taping, mudding, texturing (knockdown, orange peel, popcorn removal), and blending repairs seamlessly into existing walls.
General Handyman Services:
Complete diverse household repair items, such as TV mounting, fixture replacements, minor plumbing/electrical touch-ups, hardware installation, and general property maintenance.
Property Respect & Cleanliness:
Maintain a clean work zone, protect homeowner furnishings, practice dust minimization, and execute thorough cleanups at the end of every job.
Customer Service:
Represent Patch Perfect professionally on-site, answering client questions with courtesy and ensuring complete satisfaction before wrapping up a project.
Documentation & Reporting:
Communicate project updates, track materials used, and submit job-related notes or photos efficiently through our digital systems.
Qualifications & Requirements Experience:
Minimum 2-4 years of proven professional experience in finish carpentry, drywall repair, and general residential remodeling/handyman work.
Tool Proficiency:
Must own a reliable set of standard hand and power tools necessary for carpentry and general home repairs.
Transportation:
Valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and reliable transportation to job sites across the Lafayette and Acadiana region.
Work Ethic:
Punctual, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of working independently or as part of a team.
