This position demands elite-level craftsmanship, deep technical knowledge of building mechanics, and the ability to mentor junior carpenters and apprentices. As our Master Carpenter, you will tackle precision millwork, timber framing, intricate structural modifications, and complex layout work that requires an expert eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities Precision Craftsmanship:
Execute high-end architectural trim, custom cabinetry, stairs, intricate timber work, historic restorations, and custom structural framing.
Technical Layout & Problem Solving:
Solve complex geometric, structural, and architectural challenges on-site; review plans for discrepancies before execution.
Site Leadership & Mentorship:
Lead crews by example, enforce quality control standards, and train apprentices and journeymen in trade techniques.
Multi-Trade Oversight:
Work closely with general contractors, architects, and sub-trades (MEP, drywall, masonry) to ensure custom woodwork integrates smoothly with building systems.
Quality & Material Control:
Order specialized lumber and hardware, minimize waste, and ensure a flawless finish on all client deliverables.
Qualifications & Requirements Experience:
10 to 15+ years of hands-on experience, with proven mastery in both rough framing and high-end finish carpentry.
Expertise:
Deep knowledge of joinery, wood species, building science, structural codes, and advanced layout math.
Tools & Transport:
Complete set of high-end specialized carpentry tools and reliable transportation.
Leadership:
Strong communication skills with a track record of running custom builds or mentoring field crews.
Pay:
$25.00 - $32.00 per hour
