Position Summary Dieudonne Enterprises is seeking an experienced Concrete Carpenter / Finisher to join our heavy civil construction crew. This position performs concrete carpentry and finishing work on roadway, municipal, and public infrastructure projects throughout the Greater New Orleans area. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, able to work outdoors in varying conditions, and experienced with forming, placing, and finishing concrete. Primary Responsibilities Build, set, brace, and strip concrete forms. Form sidewalks, curbs, gutters, ADA ramps, roadway pavement, driveways, and other concrete structures. Set forms to proper line, grade, elevation, slope, and dimensions. Place, spread, screed, level, float, edge, and finish concrete. Perform broom, hand, and other specified concrete finishes. Install expansion and construction joints as required. Assist with concrete demolition and removal. Assist with excavation, grading, and preparation of areas prior to concrete placement. Use hand and power tools safely and properly. Assist with layout and field measurements. Maintain tools, forms, and work areas. Work safely around construction equipment and active roadway operations. Follow company, project, and OSHA safety requirements. Perform additional construction duties as needed to support the crew. Required Qualifications Previous concrete carpentry and/or concrete finishing experience required. Experience with sidewalks, curb and gutter, ADA ramps, and roadway concrete strongly preferred. Must own and bring the basic personal hand tools necessary to perform concrete carpentry and finishing work. Employees are responsible for maintaining their personal tools in safe, usable condition and bringing them to the jobsite as required. Ability to read a tape measure and understand construction measurements. Ability to establish and maintain proper grades, slopes, and elevations. Knowledge of concrete placement and finishing techniques. Ability to safely operate common concrete and carpentry tools. Reliable transportation to assigned work locations. Must be dependable and report to work on time. Must be able to follow instructions from foremen and supervisors. Valid driver's license preferred. Physical Requirements This is a physically demanding field position. Employees must be able to regularly lift and carry construction materials and tools; bend, kneel, squat, climb, push, and pull; perform repetitive concrete finishing and carpentry tasks; and stand and work for extended periods. Employees must be able to work outdoors in Louisiana heat, humidity, cold, rain, and other jobsite conditions and around dust, noise, concrete, construction equipment, and active construction operations. Work Schedule Dieudonne Enterprises generally operates a four-day, 10-hour workweek , although schedules may change depending on project requirements, weather, concrete pours, and owner/contract requirements. Overtime and additional days may be required when necessary. Experience performing both concrete carpentry and concrete finishing is preferred.
Pay:
$23.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 45.0 per week
