Job Description
Job Overview Beehive Pros is seeking an experienced Lead Carpenter / Construction Supervisor to oversee and perform hands-on construction work for a multifamily building project in Marlborough, MA. This position is ideal for an experienced carpenter who can lead a crew, coordinate daily field activities, and ensure construction is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard of quality. The Lead Carpenter / Construction Supervisor will work closely with project management, subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel to keep the project moving according to schedule. This is a hands-on leadership position, so the ideal candidate should be comfortable supervising the jobsite while also performing carpentry and construction work as needed. Key Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate daily construction activities on a multifamily building project. Lead carpenters and other field personnel while providing clear direction on daily priorities. Perform hands-on carpentry work, including framing, blocking, drywall-related preparation, doors, hardware, trim, finish carpentry, and other general construction tasks. Read and interpret architectural and construction drawings, specifications, and details. Lay out walls, openings, doors, and other building components according to project plans. Coordinate with subcontractors, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, drywall, flooring, and other trades. Monitor project progress and help ensure work remains on schedule. Identify field issues and communicate them promptly to project management. Verify that work is completed correctly and meets project plans and quality expectations. Coordinate material needs and notify project management of upcoming material or equipment requirements. Maintain an organized, professional, and safe jobsite. Ensure employees and subcontractors follow company safety procedures and applicable jobsite regulations. Assist with inspections, punch-list items, corrections, and project closeout. Maintain accountability among field personnel and ensure assigned work is completed efficiently. Communicate daily progress, upcoming needs, delays, and potential issues to project management. Qualifications Proven experience as a Lead Carpenter, Construction Supervisor, Foreman, or similar field leadership position. Strong background in residential, multifamily, or commercial construction. Extensive knowledge of rough and finish carpentry. Ability to read and understand architectural and construction drawings. Experience supervising employees, subcontractors, and multiple trades. Strong understanding of construction sequencing and jobsite operations. Ability to identify problems in the field and develop practical solutions. Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills. Ability to work independently and take ownership of daily jobsite operations. Dependable, punctual, and able to maintain a consistent work schedule. Knowledge of construction safety practices and applicable building standards. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred. Preferred Experience Multifamily construction experience. Experience overseeing projects from framing through finishes. Experience coordinating multiple subcontractors and trades. OSHA certification or other construction safety training. Previous experience working in an occupied building renovation or large-scale residential construction environment.
