$25-$30 per hour, based on experience About Lousso Designs Lousso Designs is a growing custom furniture, upholstery and interior-design company serving residential, commercial and hospitality clients. We operate from a 12,000-square-foot facility in Norwood and produce custom furniture, banquettes, upholstered pieces, tables and architectural elements. We are looking for an experienced, dependable furniture carpenter to join our production team. Responsibilities Build custom furniture, including frames, tables, banquette bases, beds, headboards and specialty pieces. Construct and repair hardwood and plywood furniture components. Read and work from drawings, dimensions, templates and specifications. Cut, shape, assemble and prepare wood components accurately. Create strong frames and structures for upholstered furniture. Perform joinery, fastening, gluing, sanding and surface preparation. Safely operate table saws, chop saws, routers, planers, sanders and other woodworking equipment. Work closely with upholsterers, designers and project managers. Identify construction problems and recommend practical solutions. Maintain quality standards while meeting production deadlines. Keep the carpentry area, tools and materials organized. Assist with furniture installation when required. Qualifications At least three years of professional carpentry, furniture-making, cabinetmaking or millwork experience. Experience building furniture from drawings or specifications. Strong knowledge of woodworking tools, materials, joinery and construction methods. Ability to measure and cut accurately. Ability to work independently and as part of a production team. Reliable, organized and committed to quality. Comfortable lifting and handling furniture and materials. Custom furniture or upholstery-frame experience is strongly preferred. Commercial millwork, cabinetry or installation experience is a plus. Compensation and Benefits $25-$30 per hour, based on demonstrated experience and skill. Full-time work with opportunities for overtime and advancement.
