Job Description

Wentworth is an Architect-Led Residential Design/ Build remodeling firm. This position comes with comprehensive health/ medical benefits, retirement benefits, and a great office environment! It is the responsibility of the Carpenter to perform predictive creation of furniture and buildings. The candidate must have 2-3 years of carpentry install experience, including building AND installing cabinets, bookcases, etc. This position requires experience with built-ins, active maintenance and reactive repairs . These include repairing broken or damaged furniture, building custom cabinetry, tables, office space and other furniture as requested. All duties are to be performed in accordance with federal, state, local laws, regulations, and ordinances, as well as department and company policies, practices, and procedures to ensure overall facility integrity.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Routine to complex maintenance and repair work on building and furniture. Maintain logbook Operate power and hand tools Maintain deadlines Fabricate, assemble, and install permanent structures, office partitions, doors, cornices, counters, etc. Safely set up and operate various types of woodworking machines in conjunction with work assignments Work under minimal supervision to complete tasks in a timely manner Work from blueprints, sketches, and verbal instructions to obtain dimensions and finished specifications, lay out jobs and compute angular and linear dimensions as required Understand the layout of the property, hotel rooms, and equipment Keep informed and updated on current techniques and technical methods and advise Shift Supervisor of any unusual conditions within the property Maintain constant awareness of personal and property cleanliness, safety and accident prevention, able to wear/use personal protective equipment (p.p.e.) Perform other job-related duties as requested
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
General knowledge of mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and verbal forms Must know how to design, build, and install custom pieces that are made to fit a specific space. Ability to work under pressure Basic knowledge of computer software to include Outlook, Sling, ADP Effective listening abilities with strong judgment skills Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all business contacts Maintain a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance adhering to company standards
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent 2 years of experience in a residential environment
PREFERRED
Technical school or completed apprenticeship in a similar trade Experienced in residential remodeling Ability to demonstrate skill
