About Wentworth Wentworth is an architect-led residential design/build company specializing in high-end residential remodeling and custom home projects. We take pride in quality craftsmanship, professionalism, and building long-term relationships with both our clients and employees. We are currently seeking an experienced Lead Carpenter to join our growing team. The ideal candidate can independently read construction plans, manage day-to-day job site activities, maintain high-quality workmanship, and help keep projects moving efficiently. What You'll Do Read and interpret blueprints, construction plans, and project specifications Perform residential remodeling and finish carpentry work Frame walls, windows, doors, and other structural components Install trim, doors, windows, cabinetry, and custom millwork Coordinate daily job site activities and maintain project progress Work safely while maintaining a clean and organized job site Collaborate with project managers, subcontractors, and team members to complete projects on schedule Ensure all work meets Wentworth's quality standards Experienced Carpenter Responsibilities Lead and coordinate small crews Manage day-to-day job site operations with minimal supervision Review plans and communicate questions or field conditions to project management Communicate professionally with homeowners, subcontractors, and vendors Maintain job site safety, organization, and quality control Train and mentor less experienced crew members as needed Qualifications We're looking for candidates who have: Minimum 3 years of residential remodeling experience Experience with framing, trim, cabinet installation, and finish carpentry Ability to accurately read a tape measure Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings Ability to independently manage daily job site activities Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Valid driver's license Reliable transportation to travel to job sites throughout Washington, DC, Northern Virginia, and Southern Maryland Strong work ethic, reliability, and professionalism Preferred Qualifications Prior experience as a Lead Carpenter or Foreman Experience leading crews and coordinating residential remodeling projects Strong communication and leadership skills Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Experience coordinating with homeowners, subcontractors, and project managers Location & Travel Requirements Projects are located throughout Washington, DC, Northern Virginia, and Southern Maryland. Candidates should be located within a reasonable commuting distance of Chevy Chase, MD and be comfortable traveling to various job sites as needed. Tools Applicants should own their own carpentry tools appropriate for their experience level. Lead Carpenter candidates should have a complete working set of professional hand and power tools.
Compensation Carpenter:
$25.00-$28.00 per hour
Lead Carpenter:
$28.00-$32.00 per hour Compensation is based on experience, skill level, leadership ability, and overall qualifications. Pay:
$25.00 - $32.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
