Job Description

Job Summary Define Construction & Design is seeking a skilled and dedicated Carpenter/Construction Laborer to join our team. We serve Howard and surrounding counties on home improvement renovations such as kitchens, bathrooms, basement remodels and build outs, outdoor structures and more. The ideal candidate is reliable, responsible to execute projects assigned, timely and possess a strong dedication to detail. Seeking an applicant with experience in various carpentry tasks and a strong understanding of MHIC operations. This role involves working on diverse projects for both indoor and outdoor home improvement projects, including demo, framing & drywall, fixture installation, flooring, cabinetry, and finishing while ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards. Responsibilities Fabricate and assemble wooden structures and fixtures according to specifications. Install cabinets, trim, and other fixtures with precision. Perform flooring installation with attention to detail. Assist in framing for various construction projects. Collaborate with team members on site tasks to ensure project timelines are met. Conduct regular maintenance checks on tools and equipment to ensure safety and efficiency. Follow all safety protocols and regulations while working on-site. Skills Proficient in carpentry techniques and practices, including trim carpentry and fixture installation. Experience with plumbing, HVAC and electrical installations is a plus. Strong understanding of construction site safety procedures. Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor tasks effectively. Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members. Starting position is for a 1099 contractor and applicants MUST hold liability insurance, MHIC license welcome but not required, approximately 20-30 hours per week. Ability for W-2 regular position opportunities available with successful completion of roles and responsibilities.
