Job Description
Foreman/Carpenter Commercial Interior Construction is a family owned and operated company located in Clarkston, MI. We are currently seeking a full-time, EXPERIENCED Foreman/Carpenter to join our team. We are looking for someone who is willing to work hard, has a great attitude, and is willing to learn.
Candidate Requirements:
- Able to problem solve and troubleshoot
- Knowledgeable of construction methods and various trades such as: Metal Studs, Acoustical Ceilings, Commercial doors, Millwork installations, Some drywall, Some Wood framing.
- Ability to interact and communicate well with the manager, subcontractors, and co-workers throughout the job
- Self-starter and independent worker with attention to detail
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of carpenters and other construction workers on-site
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements
- Ensure that all work is completed according to project plans, specifications, and quality standards
- Monitor and enforce compliance with safety regulations, including OSHA standards
Skills:
- Ability to read drawings, blueprints, and schematics
- Ability to interpret building plans and specifications
- Ability to use basic hand tools (screwdrivers, hammers, etc.)
- Ability to use basic machinery
- Strong supervisory skills with the ability to lead a team effectively
- Proficiency in construction management software such as PlanGrid
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety protocols
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with various stakeholders
- Strong problem-solving abilities to address issues that may arise during construction projects
- Attention to detail to ensure work is completed accurately and according to specifications Position Responsibilities The carpenter is responsible for the successful completion of the jobs given to them to include: completing on time, and maintaining a high level of quality, safety, and professional communication.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be able to perform physical activities such as, but not limited to, lifting equipment, bending, standing, climbing or walking
- Must be able to safely use manual and power tools and equipment
- Must have own reliable transportation
- Must hold a valid driver's license and auto insurance
