Finish Carpenter Coastal Construction is a family owned, established construction company based in Charlevoix County. We're looking for an experienced Finish Carpenter with at least five years of professional carpentry experience to join our team. Our work includes high end residential construction and renovation, custom finish carpentry, cabinetry, millwork and cabinet installation. We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, pays attention to the details and wants to be part of a company where good people are given the opportunity to take on more responsibility and grow. We work hard to take care of the people we work alongside. Our team typically works four 10 hour days Monday through Thursday, with overtime opportunities on Fridays when available. We have a strong workload with projects booked well ahead, allowing us to offer steady, primarily local work without excessive travel. What We're Looking For This is not an entry level carpentry position. We are looking for someone with a strong background in finish carpentry who is comfortable working independently while also being part of a team.

The right person will have:

A minimum of five years of professional carpentry experience Strong experience with interior and exterior finish carpentry Experience installing doors, windows, trim, baseboard, casing and crown molding Cabinet and millwork installation experience The ability to read plans, drawings and measurements accurately Strong layout and problem solving skills An understanding of how to produce clean, consistent finished work Attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship The ability to work efficiently without sacrificing quality Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license A dependable work history and good communication skills Experience with custom homes, high end residential construction, renovations or custom cabinetry is a plus. Responsibilities Depending on the project, responsibilities may include: Interior trim and finish carpentry Door and window installation Cabinet and millwork installation Custom built ins and architectural details Exterior finish carpentry Working from plans and field measurements Coordinating with project managers, other carpenters and subcontractors Maintaining a clean and professional jobsite Helping identify and solve field conditions as they arise Completing work to the quality standards expected by our company and our clients We're not looking for someone who needs every step laid out for them. We want someone who can look at a scope of work, understand what needs to happen and take ownership of getting it done correctly.
