Job Description

In-House Carpenter Position Overview SERVPRO is seeking a skilled and dependable In-House Carpenter to join our restoration and construction team. This position is responsible for performing residential and commercial repair and reconstruction work following water, fire, storm, and other property damage. The ideal candidate is an experienced carpenter who takes pride in quality workmanship, understands the importance of customer service, and can work independently while collaborating with Project Managers, production crews, subcontractors, and customers. Key Responsibilities Perform residential and commercial carpentry, repair, and reconstruction work, including framing, drywall, trim, doors, cabinets, flooring, and finish work. Complete demolition, repairs, and reconstruction according to approved scopes of work, project specifications, and company quality standards. Read and interpret plans, measurements, scopes of work, and project instructions. Safely operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, and other construction equipment. Protect existing property and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Identify potential issues, unforeseen conditions, or changes in scope and communicate them promptly to the Project Manager. Coordinate with Project Managers, Estimators, subcontractors, and other trades to maintain project schedules. Maintain professional communication with customers and provide a positive experience while working in their homes or businesses. Follow all company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and SERVPRO procedures. Maintain tools, equipment, vehicles, and materials in good working condition. Complete daily documentation, jobsite updates, and other required project records. Assist with emergency services, demolition, contents handling, and other restoration activities as needed. Qualifications & Skills 2+ years of carpentry or residential/commercial construction experience preferred. Strong knowledge of general carpentry and construction practices. Experience with drywall, framing, trim, doors, flooring, cabinetry, and finish carpentry. Ability to accurately measure, cut, install, and finish construction materials. Ability to read basic plans, drawings, and scopes of work. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Reliable, punctual, organized, and able to work independently. Strong communication and customer-service skills. Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record. Ability to pass applicable background and employment requirements. Restoration industry experience and certifications are a plus. Physical & Work Environment This position requires regular physical activity in residential, commercial, and active construction environments. Responsibilities may include standing and walking for extended periods, bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, working overhead, lifting and carrying materials, and working in areas affected by water, fire, smoke, mold, or other property damage. The ability to lift up to 50 pounds independently and safely perform physically demanding construction activities is required. Why SERVPRO? Employment Type Full-Time Schedule:
Monday-Friday with occasional overtime, emergency response, or weekend work as project needs require.
Pay:
$18.00 - $27.00 per hour
