Job Description

Lead Carpenter Wanted - Local Remodeling Company Are you a hands-on carpenter who thrives on running a tight, well-organized job site? We're a local remodeling company looking to add a Lead Carpenter to our team — someone who takes real pride in their craft and enjoys steering residential remodeling projects from the ground up. You'll be responsible for the day-to-day rhythm of the job site: hands-on carpentry work, coordinating the flow of each project, and keeping things moving from first day to final walkthrough. If you take pride in doing things right the first time, enjoy mentoring the people around you, and want to work somewhere that invests in both its people and its projects, we want to talk to you. Everything we do is rooted in four values: excellence, initiative, trustworthiness, and caring for others. We're looking for someone who lives those out on every job, every day.
Compensation:
$32 - $37 hourly
Responsibilities:
Handle daily hands-on carpentry — framing, trim, cabinetry, and installations Set the tone on-site by working shoulder-to-shoulder with the crew Run residential remodeling projects from kickoff to completion Interpret plans, drawings, and specs accurately Keep daily job site activities organized while staying hands-on yourself Guide and support crew members and trade partners throughout the project Represent the company professionally in all homeowner interactions Keep projects on schedule and address delays before they become problems Stay in regular contact with the production manager and office team Hold the work to company quality standards and client expectations Solve on-site problems quickly and practically as they arise Keep the job site clean, safe, and well-organized Help plan, pick up, and organize materials on-site Keep all work aligned with local building codes and safety requirements
Qualifications:
3+ years in residential carpentry or remodeling Skilled in both rough and finish carpentry Able to balance hands-on work with light on-site leadership Comfortable reading and interpreting plans Strong problem-solving skills and an eye for detail Collaborative, with solid communication skills Some experience leading or mentoring others on a job site Dependable, punctual, and professional Valid driver's license with reliable transportation Physically able to handle the work, including lifting 50+ lbs Working knowledge of job site safety practices About Company Nelson Builders is a family-owned company that has been in business since 2001. We strive to produce excellent work for clients with good communication all along the way. Our core values are excellence, caring for others, trustworthiness, and initiative.
