General Summary:
We are currently seeking a skilled Carpenter with the ability to occasionally assist as a Site Supervisor. The primary responsibility of this role will be to perform various carpentry tasks, including framing, installation, and finishing work. Additionally, the candidate will provide support in supervising construction sites as needed, ensuring projects are executed efficiently and to high-quality standards. Core Functions Execute carpentry tasks such as framing, installing doors and windows, installing cabinets, and finishing work with precision and attention to detail. Assist with project planning and coordination to ensure timelines and budgets are met. Occasionally assume the role of Site Supervisor, providing guidance and support to construction teams to ensure project objectives are achieved. Monitor project progress, address any issues or delays, and make necessary adjustments to keep projects on track. Conduct regular inspections of work in progress and upon completion to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards. Collaborate with subcontractors, suppliers, and team members to facilitate smooth project execution. Maintain accurate records of project activities, including materials used, work performed, and project expenses. Promote and enforce compliance with safety regulations and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment. Assist in communicating project updates and progress to team members, clients and project managers.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Carpenter, with proficiency in a variety of carpentry tasks and techniques. Occasional experience in site supervision or leadership roles within the construction industry. Strong carpentry skills with the ability to deliver high-quality workmanship consistently. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively lead and coordinate construction teams. Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to meeting project objectives and quality standards. Ability to interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications accurately. Proficient in the use of hand and power tools commonly used in carpentry. Physical strength and stamina to perform tasks requiring bending, lifting, and prolonged standing. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Education:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Additional vocational training or certification in carpentry is preferred.
Working Conditions:
The role of a Carpenter with Site Supervision Responsibilities may involve working indoors or outdoors, depending on project requirements. This position may require lifting heavy objects, working at heights, and exposure to various weather conditions. Protective gear and clothing may be required when working on construction sites.
Salary:
Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
