Castle Building & Remodeling Twin Cities Metro Area | Full-Time Make a Big Impact on Smaller Projects Castle Building & Remodeling is seeking an experienced Lead Carpenter to join our Special Projects Team . This position focuses exclusively on smaller remodeling and repair projects, typically ranging from a few hours to several weeks in duration. The ideal candidate is a highly skilled carpenter who enjoys variety, works independently, communicates professionally with homeowners, and takes pride in delivering exceptional craftsmanship. Unlike production remodeling projects with large crews, our Special Projects Team Lead Carpenter often serves as the primary field representative and is responsible for completing work efficiently while maintaining Castle's high standards for quality and customer service. The Special Projects business is an important part of Castle's growth strategy. What You'll Do Perform a wide variety of residential remodeling, repair, and handyman-level carpentry work. Lead and complete small remodeling projects from start to finish working with other carpenters from Castle's team when needed. Install trim, doors, windows, cabinetry, flooring, drywall, and finish carpentry. Perform minor framing and structural modifications. Coordinate and work alongside specialty subcontractors when needed. Communicate directly with homeowners regarding project progress and scheduling. Troubleshoot field conditions and solve problems independently. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite. Document project progress using company software and mobile technology. Deliver an outstanding customer experience on every project. Ideal Projects Include Bathroom updates and repairs Kitchen updates and cabinet installations Interior carpentry and trim work Door and window replacements Drywall and painting coordination Deck and exterior repairs Punch list and warranty work Aging-in-place modifications Small porch / deck additions and remodeling projects What We're Looking For Required Qualifications 7+ years of residential remodeling or carpentry experience. Strong finish carpentry skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to accurately diagnose and solve construction challenges. Excellent communication and customer-service skills. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Ability to lift 75 pounds and perform physical construction work daily. Personal hand tools appropriate for residential remodeling. Preferred Qualifications Lead carpenter or project leadership experience. Broad remodeling experience across multiple trades. Experience managing project schedules and subcontractors. Familiarity with mobile apps, project management software, and digital documentation.
