About Custom Container Living Custom Container Living is a rapidly growing family-owned company specializing in the design and construction of custom shipping container homes. Since 2015, we have been building innovative residential and commercial structures for customers across the country. We are seeking a skilled Carpenter who takes pride in craftsmanship, can work from blueprints, and understands how to build structurally sound framing systems with accuracy and efficiency. Position Summary This position is responsible for constructing and installing framing components for custom container homes and related structures. The ideal candidate has experience in residential framing, can work independently, and understands the importance of precision, quality, and safety. This is not a general labor position. Candidates should have hands-on framing experience and be comfortable reading plans and completing framing tasks with minimal supervision. Responsibilities Read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and project specifications. Frame interior and exterior walls, ceilings, roof systems, and structural components. Construct rough openings for doors, windows, and other building features. Install sheathing, exterior wall materials, and weather-resistant barriers. Measure, cut, and assemble framing materials accurately and efficiently. Verify layout dimensions and ensure framing complies with plans and specifications. Operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, pneumatic nailers, and saws safely. Identify and resolve framing challenges while maintaining quality standards. Work closely with production team members and other trades. Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Required Qualifications Minimum 2-3 years of framing or rough carpentry experience. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings. Experience laying out and constructing wall systems, roof systems, and rough openings. Strong understanding of framing methods, building practices, and job-site safety. Skilled use of hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment. Strong math skills, including accurate measurements and material calculations. Ability to work independently and complete tasks with minimal supervision. Reliable attendance and dependable work ethic. High school diploma or GED. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally. Preferred Qualifications Residential construction experience. Experience with steel framing or non-traditional building systems. Knowledge of residential building codes and construction standards.
