We are a well-established local general contractor working on a variety of custom residential, commercial, renovation, and historic construction projects throughout Mid-Missouri. We are looking for dependable, skilled people who take pride in their work, work well as part of a team, and are comfortable performing a variety of carpentry and general construction tasks. This is a hands-on field position with steady, year-round work and the opportunity to work alongside experienced superintendents and craftsmen. What You'll Do Perform rough and finish carpentry on residential and commercial projects Framing, siding, exterior trim, interior trim, doors, windows, and other carpentry work Assist with renovations, additions, historic projects, and new construction Read plans, take accurate measurements, and complete work according to project specifications Safely operate common hand and power tools Work alongside project superintendents, other Hercon employees, subcontractors, and trade partners Help maintain clean, organized, and safe jobsites Perform other general construction tasks as needed to keep projects moving What We're Looking For Previous carpentry or construction experience Working knowledge of common carpentry tools, materials, and construction methods Ability to work independently when appropriate and as part of a crew Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic Attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship Professional demeanor when working in clients' homes and businesses Ability to perform the physical requirements of construction work, including lifting, climbing ladders, and working outdoors Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Willingness to travel to project sites in Columbia and surrounding Mid-Missouri communities Experience in multiple areas of carpentry is preferred, but we don't expect every candidate to know everything. We value people who have a solid construction background, are willing to learn, and care about doing the job right.
